I am an Instructor at St. John’s University in Queens, NY. My scholarship focuses on the effects that social movements have in the world, with an emphasis on understanding the kinds of power that different actors wield. My current book manuscript evaluates the emergent movement against nuclear energy in the United States at the end of the 1960s to analyze the ways movement actors reshaped the field of contention. I am embarking on a new project that interrogates how Indigenous eco-activism in the United States is reshaping patterns and practices of citizenship and sovereignty.
